Action-packed weekend in Cagliari: what to do in 2 or 3 days

If for you a busy weekend means drinking well, having an aperitif, wandering between the center and the sea and ending the night in places with different atmospheres, Cagliari gives you a lot without forcing you to travel long distances. The key is to choose the area well: center for pubs and first drinks, Su Siccu for the young atmosphere on the marina, Cala Mosca for the more selective evenings and Poetto for the easier formats at sunset or on the beach.

Itinerary

How to organize it

Start with the dinghy tour with music

If you want to get into the party mood right away, this is the strongest starting point. The dinghy tour with music is often frequented by young people, there is drink, the atmosphere is very easy and new friends are easily made. Furthermore, you have three time slots to choose from: you can start from the sea, experience a very fun moment under the Sella del Diavolo and then move to the center together with the others to continue the evening well.

First drink in the centre: Old Square, Il Merlo and the streets of Corso

Generally we start drinking in the city center. If you like pubs, Old Square and Il Merlo are two very solid references on Corso Vittorio Emanuele: easy to reach, well known and perfect for getting into the rhythm without complicating your evening from the first drink.

Su Siccu is the right choice if you want music, sea and young people

If you prefer a more open, marina-like atmosphere, Su Siccu works very well. Bakan and Sea Flower are two names to keep in mind if you like drinking by the sea with background music, a young climate and a natural transition between aperitif, light dinner and after dinner.

For busier evenings: Cala Mosca remains the strongest area

If you want higher-end beachfront evenings, La Paillote and Le Terrazze di Calamosca are among the strongest choices. Here it is best to dress well, arrive early and not underestimate the selection at the entrance: after a certain time it often becomes much more difficult to enter. Azul has a different climate, less rigid and more relaxed, suitable for those looking for a less formal environment.

Poetto at sunset: happy hour and format until midnight

Poetto is perfect if you want a simpler and lighter version of the evening. Emerson Beach Club is very strong at sunset: the best-known format is on Fridays, with a Campari feel, and generally starts around 7pm and closes around midnight. Le Palmette, on the other hand, is worth keeping an eye on, especially on Thursday evenings: here too the atmosphere is happy hour and early evening, starting around 7pm and closing around midnight.

From after dinner onwards: Corto Maltese and nearby venues

If you want to stay later, still in Poetto, near the Ospedale Marino, you will find Corto Maltese. It's more suitable than Emerson or Le Palmette if you're looking for an after-dinner evening: on weekends it often offers live music, has a more rock atmosphere and goes on until around 2:00. In the same area you will also find other clubs such as Fico d'India, very popular with the LGBT+ public, which often enlivens the Poetto night with an even different atmosphere.
