How to organize it
Early morning: trekking from Cala Mosca or seaside for those who don't want to walk
If you want to see the most iconic part of Cagliari, the best choice is to leave early and go towards the Sella del Diavolo. If you love trekking, the route from the Cala Mosca area is the right solution. If, however, you don't want to walk or prefer to experience the coast from the sea, boat or dinghy activities come in handy here: they are the simplest alternative to see the Sella without tackling the route on foot.
More urban alternative: Castello, Bastione, Duomo and Villanova
If you prefer to stay in the centre, it is best to dedicate the morning to the historic heart of Cagliari. You can do it independently or with our city tour, which is the easiest way to understand the city well in a short time. To see: the Castello district, the Bastione of Saint Remy, the Duomo, the panoramic streets and Villanova, which truly has the atmosphere of a small town. The Giardini Pubblici are also very pleasant, well-kept and tidy, with a classic style that recalls the great historic European gardens from afar.
Lunch between the Marina and the centre, without complicating your day
For lunch you can choose two very simple paths: stay in the Marina and focus on Su Cumbidu if you want Sardinian meat cuisine, or stop closer to the center with a restaurant like Pescheria Bianchi if you prefer a convenient fish solution to fit between Castello, Bastione and return to the sea.
After lunch: enjoy Poetto without complicating the logistics
After lunch, instead of filling the day too much, the smartest choice is to go to Poetto and enjoy the beach. It's an easy solution because you have many services: bars, bus stops, bathrooms, showers and a very comfortable seafront to experience even without organizing anything else.
More scenic finale: aperitif at Castello
After the Poetto, the most beautiful ending is to go up towards Castello and stop at the Gemini America Bar. Here the aperitif becomes a true drinking experience: you tell us what you like, the sensations you are looking for and the flavors you prefer, and the drink is almost tailor-made. All with a spectacular view of the city and the Elephant Tower.

- If you want to trek to the Devil's Saddle, leave early and don't save it for the hottest hours.
- If you really only have one day, avoid doing both trekking and the complete historic center in the same block in the morning.
- To better understand Castello and Villanova in a short time, the city tour is the most straightforward solution.
- If you choose trekking in the morning, don't try to add too many beach activities after lunch: Poetto works best as a relaxed end.
- After Poetto, going up to Castello for an aperitif works better than adding another stop by the sea.
